These works were made occasionally throughout the 1980s and 1990s between working in other mediums.
This series was produced in the 80s when I was interested in the effect of colours – sometimes concealed – on adjacent surfaces.
This mixed media work signalled my move away from constructed pieces but the actual imagery has always continued to be part of my iconography therefore remaining a seminal force for my future output. The shinier forms were considered too shiny/slick at the time when more earthy images were popular.
This work was made in the late 1960s. Most of it no longer exists but some moulds survive.
